On July 4, 2005 the Agreement between Governments of RK and PRC was adopted about regulation of Khorgos ICBC. The main goal of the project is the development of the trading and economic, scientific and technical, investment and cultural cooperation between RK and PRC.
The boundary cooperation programs of Kazakhstan and China for YY2015-2020. The creation of the International Center for Boundary Cooperation “Khorgos” has been initiated by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It is a unique joint Kazakhstan-China project of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the People’s Republic of China, which has no analogues in the world in the context of integration of the “Nurly Zhol” program with the project of the Silk Road’s Economic Belt – “One Belt, One Road”.
One of the main areas of focus of the “Program of the Boundary Cooperation between Kazakhstan and China for 2015-2020” is the transformation of “KHORGOS” ICBC into the model of economic partnership on the areas of two countries bordering each other.

From November 1st 2016 the RK nationals are being admitted to enter “Krogos” ICBC based on the ID or passport; RK nationals under 16 y.o. – based on the certificate of birth while being accompanied by one of the parents and foreign nationals – based on the passport.
From December 17, 2016 the working regime of “Khorgos” ICBC for people is set at: from 07:00 am to 7:00 pm.
